Onye Speaks College Readiness Curriculum

Where College Readiness Preparation Does NOT Just Begin in 12th Grade!

My full 9th -12th grade level sequences are available for the 2024-2025 school year!  This motivational and culturally relevant curriculum series helps students learn while building valuable connections with each other and with school staff. This video based curriculum is based on American School Counselor Association (ASCA) domains, years of college prep teaching experience, and current research on student development. In addition to learning the steps to becoming a competitive college candidate, students will gain crucial skill development in the areas of academic preparedness, self-identity, social & emotional development, career & college-going identity, resilience, and self-advocacy. These skill sets are associated with higher academic performance. These lessons prepare students for high school, college, and beyond! Curriculum features relevant, motivational, engaging, and humorous videos. Lessons are interactive. Digital and printable worksheets are included. No PowerPoint presentations! No new student accounts or logins to learn! Plus:

Description: Now, more than ever, students need guidance on how to nurture their emotional well-being as they navigate through school. Part of that nurturing revolves around developing a healthy sense of self-esteem. This quick 25 minute lesson helps students practice creating positive affirmations. It also features a video where students can learn about self-esteem management tips.

Description: In today's college admissions landscape, student involvement in extracurricular activities is becoming increasingly more important. Involvement in these activities can also help students develop crucial skills and develop as people, communicators, and leaders. A brag sheet is a great way to track these activities in preparation for college applications, scholarship applications, and letters of recommendation requests.
